One hundred and seven years ago, Cindy
Field Wall's great grandfather, Frank
O. Field, the founder of Autocrat Coffee,
insisted upon creating "the most delicious
coffee you ever tasted." Cindy seized
her great-grandfather's entrepreneurial
spirit and pursuit of perfection when she
decided to parlay her 21 years of experience
and expertise in the coffee industry into
introducing a premiere line of specialty
roasts named Newport Coffee Traders.
Now, the fourth generation coffeemaker,
who serves as president of Newport Coffee
Traders, is leading the charge from bringing
the brand from local cafes, small specialty
shops and fine restaurants to mainstream
retail environments throughout New England.
Newport Coffee Traders will initially be
introduced in Stop & Shop Supermarkets
in Rhode Island and Massachusetts in January
2003, with additional distribution expected.
Cindy's career in the coffee business
started in 1982 after graduating from Skidmore
College with a Bachelors Degree in Biology.
She began by managing Autocrat's Coffee
Service Sales and soon became an acting
principal of the company.
Married and the mother of three boys, ages
12, 10 and 6, Cindy has successfully balanced
raising a family with maintaining a rewarding
career. When not serving as den mother for
the Cub Scouts Nayatt Pack 1 or sitting
in on a Barrington Middle School PTO meeting,
she is overseeing the roast quality of the
100% Arabica coffee beans that arrive from
around the world to her plant in Lincoln,
RI.
